Booth Presentation
It is our desire to create a beautiful boutique market experience. We want each booth to be a unique experience for the shopper. Be mindful that shoppers are drawn more to a creative display rather than a simple table with items laid on it.
We also discourage the wire rack type walls, these aren’t very visually appealing to shoppers. We would love to help you create a beautiful space if you are unsure how to go about it.
Also, please keep in mind the overall perspective you are trying to convey to shoppers. We want each of your products to look like they belong among the collection:
- Layer displays and use risers or creative ways to lift your products up off the table, this is more visually pleasing than laying items flat on your table.
- Group items by what they are, if something doesn’t fit, don’t bring it.
You are responsible for all of your set up, including tables and chairs. We do not have access to tables and chairs and will be unable to provide these. - If you do not already have a credit card reader, now is a great time to request one of these. Many shoppers do not come with cash, so be prepared! We recommend the Square reader or the Etsy reader. There is wifi at the venue and this will be provided via the Facebook group on set up day.
- The items that you have indicated on your application are the items that you have been approved to sell. Please do not bring items that were not specified as we accepted vendors based upon your applications.
- If you have only been accepted to bring certain items, please know this is because we had an overwhelming response in certain categories and weren’t able to accept all items on each vendor’s application in order to meet our 8% like item cap.
Returning Vendors
Please remember to try and make your booth look new and exciting, and have new or different items available. We like to ensure that shoppers are always presented with new options, even from their favorite vendors!
We want you to have a wonderful experience selling at the BHM Market. We ask that you share market graphics and reshare marketing promotions for the market.
If you tag @boernehandmademarket in your stories and posts we will do our best to share them!
Preparation
- Set up for vendors will be Thursday afternoon from 12pm – 5pm.
- Friday morning you will need to be at your booth by 9:30am.
- Saturday morning you will need to be ready and at your booth before 9:00 am.
- You may not tear down your booth until 4:00 pm on Saturday.
- Vendors selling food items- you will be getting another email from me shortly, please make sure to keep an eye out for it. There are things that MUST be completed in order for you to participate.
- All vendors are responsible for appropriate permits, required product labels, insurance, and collection of all appropriate sales tax. Vendors are responsible for their own credit/debit services and related fees.
VIP Details
Start thinking about something fun to offer for the VIP shoppers, whether a special buy, a coupon code or even some type of scavenger hunt! We will be doing goody bags for all the shoppers that night and this is only made possible from donations by YOU!!
This should be 20-24 items for the bags or more if you can swing it. It can be something like a sticker, pen, coupon or an item you actually sell, whatever you are able to donate is great! The shoppers really love this. We also will be adding (items to the bags (shirts, stickers and BHM cash)!
If it is a coupon, please make sure it’s at least 50% off an item – we want this to feel special for them. You want the shoppers to be excited to stop by your booth! Several vendors offered keychains this past spring, and some shoppers wound up with 3 keychain coupons.
We encourage you to be a little more creative for this market and come up with something new and exciting to offer if possible!
Coupon information: your coupon MUST be 3×3 in size, this is not a recommendation, it is a requirement.
We have a template for you to use! Make sure your logo is large and easy to read, this is how the shoppers will find you! Avoid placing anything in the top right corner as this is where they will be hole-punched. Cardstock is encouraged but not required.
We encourage you to be a little more creative for this market and come up with something new and exciting to offer if possible!
We will also do our best to ensure coupons and items are evenly distributed to avoid that happening again.
We expect about 1500 shoppers total, so PLEASE come prepared to restock your booth, having an empty booth Saturday afternoon is really not an awesome look (though great for you!).
It’s smart to treat BHM like two separate market days; many vendors have to restock most of their booth after Friday.
